Why the protection of personal information is important to your business?
In force since September 2022, Act 25 on the protection of personal information aims to provide a framework for the protection of personal information held by businesses.
But the protection of personal information is more than just compliance with the law. There are several benefits to implementing a culture of protection of personal information, such as:

What is personal information?
- Personal information is information that relates to a natural person and allows that person to be identifiable. It is confidential.
- Except in exceptional cases, they may not be disclosed without the consent of the person concerned.
In order to establish a new culture of protection of personal information, public bodies, businesses and provincial political parties will have to resort to measures that mitigate the risks of infringement of the right to privacy of citizens. The responsibilities arising from these measures are intended to increase public confidence in the protection of their personal information.
